About Al Asil Arabians

I am proud to announce the acquisition of three beautiful straight Egyptians from one of the oldest and finest breeding programs, Abraxas Arabians.

I have been studying for quite some time, taking on the considerations the past, the present and the future in my breeding program. When it comes to breeding, I was looking for strain, pedigree, movement, structure and type. I was looking for good structure that contains straight legs, dished faces, huge dark eyes, small tippy ears, arched necks, straight electric tails; I was looking for parts that blend right with each other and one part to the next. I believe good structure creates excellent movements.

Then the challenge started, I knew that starting a breeding program without knowledge is senseless, that was when I started to read research and dig about breeding which led me to know about pedigree and strain families.

Then another issue bubbled to the surface, through my study of pedigrees, I became familiar with genetic strengths and weaknesses, I learn to identify the most desirable characteristics within families and their strain, which improves the possibilities of producing improved results from one generation to the next.

I had talked with Debbie Nowak numerous times on the phone. This led me to getting on a plane to visit her farm in California. Debbie presented her breeding program and spent time with me about her horses and some of her breeding philosophies, which were quite apparent in the quality of horses she presented.

Debbie explained the extreme importance of the Tail Female families and to start a foundation program it would be “key” to start with females of extreme quality, struk-ture and blood lines. I felt that she and I were in the same page, she has what I was looking for. In my breeding philosophy, it will be never enough of good structure, straight legs, dished faces, huge dark black eyes, small tippy ears, arched necks, straight electric tails, excellent movement; all that backed up with strong bold pedigree.

I was first taken with Abraxas Moon Glow (Abraxas MoonStruk x Abraxas Maar Hala) she is currently in foal to Abraxas Herozi (*HS Hero x Ansata Fayrouz). She is one of only three females in the world of “triple RDM Maar Hala”. An absolute gem tail female family. Next I was taken with Abraxas Pheromoon (*HS Hero x Abraxas Moonique) currently in foal to ET Crown Prince (The Egyptian Prince x RDM Maar Hala). She is of the Bint Nefisaa tail female family, another classic tail female line. Both these mares are classic in looks and pedigree. The next horse I purchased was the extremely elegant stallion Abraxas Nejd Moon (Abraxas MoonStruk x Cashai). I feel fortunate to have purchased some of the most “classic” horses in looks and in pedigree. I am grateful to Debbie for her help and guidance in my quest for breeding the classic Arabian.
